    The purpose of this loan scheme is to provide subsidized financial assistance to the educated but unemployed youth of India for starting a manufacturing, trade, service or business venture. The Prime Minister Employment Promotion Scheme 2018-2019 was launched by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Central Government on 9 August 2016 under the supervision of the Employees Provident Fund Organization. The main objective of this scheme is to increase employment opportunities for unemployed citizens in the country.

    According to the 2013 Economic Census, there were about 58 million small units in India. In which 59.48% units were from rural areas and 41.52% were from urban areas. Out of these units, the number of non-agricultural units is 77.7% of the total number of units. Which is capable of providing employment to about 13 crore 12 lakh 90 thousand people. Keeping all these things in mind, the Central Government started the Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Protsahan Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana) to encourage employers.     Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana Details - While presenting the budget for the financial year 2016-17, the department was informed about the Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Protsahan Yojana 2019 or PMRPY scheme. In the scheme, it was stated that to encourage new employment in formal sectors, the central government would deposit 8.33% of all those new employees in EPF - Employees Provident Fund for 3 years. Under this scheme, new employees mean that the employees whose salary is 15000 or less and they are already registered in Employees Provident Fund Organization - EPFO. With this incentive given by the Government of India, the employer company employing many benefits is benefited.

    Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (  https://pmrpy.gov.in/ ) is being organized keeping in mind the semi-skilled and unskilled laborers . Therefore, the benefits of this scheme are being provided to those whose monthly salary is less than 15000 or less than 15000. A budget of Rs 1000 crore has been released by the Central Government for this scheme. The tenure of this scheme is 3 to 7 years. In this scheme, training for business and service will last for 7 to 10 days. The industrial area will be 15 to 20 days. The benefits of this scheme will be provided to those whose monthly salary is less than 15000 and the employee gets 240 days / 1 year of employment.

    Objective of Prime Minister Employment Promotion Scheme:
    1. To introduce Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY), the central government aims to encourage employers providing employment in the country to provide employment to as many  unemployed people as possible .
    2. The benefits of this scheme are available to both the employer and the recipient.
    3. Under the Prime Minister Employment Incentive Scheme 2019 PMRPY, Government of India is contributing 8.33% to Employees Provident Fund to employers.
    4. Under the scheme, employers have been set up to provide employment to unemployed workers and to provide employment to a large number of unemployed citizens.
    Benefits of PM Employment Incentive Scheme 2019 PMRPY:

    The benefits of Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) launched by the Central Government for unemployed citizens and employers by the Government of India are as follows:

    • As a result of this scheme, unemployment in the country will be low and all people will be self-sufficient.
    • The person who wants to start his new business can start his new business easily.
    • Up to 15% subsidy is provided under the Prime Minister's Employment Promotion Scheme 2018 (PMRPY).
    • The person whose income is limited to ₹ 12500, subsidy amount up to ₹ 15,000 in North Eastern states, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir will get benefit.
    • Beneficiaries can avail benefits of up to 15000 subsidies per self-help group, limited to Rs 0.25 lakh per group.
    • The benefit of this scheme can be availed by any Indian citizen who is between 18 and 35 years of age.
    • Under this scheme, women, Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, fully disabled citizens are also exempted from the additional age of 10 years.
    • The age limit of 18 to 40 years has been prescribed for citizens of North Eastern states.
    • To avail the benefits of this scheme, it is mandatory to be a permanent resident of that area for at least 3 years.
    • To avail the benefits of the scheme, the applicant must have at least an eighth pass.
    • To avail the benefits of this scheme, the total annual income of the spouse and parents should not exceed Rs. 100000.
    Eligibility for Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana / PMRPY:

    To avail the benefits of PM Rojgar Protsahan Yojana 2019 (PMRPY), the applicant has to fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the government and the department, only then they will be considered eligible for this scheme -


    • The benefit of this scheme will be provided to all units registered with the Provident Fund Organization - EPFO before or after 1 April 2016.
    • Units registered with EPFO will also have a Labor ID number through the Shram Suvidha Portal.
    • The labor identification number will be used as the primary indication to discuss any subject under the Prime Minister Employment Promotion Scheme 2018 (PMRPY).
    • Every 10th day of every month, employers will submit applications online under this scheme with the help of the Prime Minister's Rozgar Protsahan Yojana 2018 (PMRPY) portal.
    • If no appointment is made in the online application, they will not be given the benefit of this scheme.
    • Under the Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY), eligible employers to include all their eligible employees in their reference base. Will happen
    • New employees benefitted under the scheme means those employees who were not connected to EPFO before 1 April 2016 and who do not have a UAN number and whose monthly salary does not exceed ₹ 15000.

    • Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana 2019 (PMRPY) was launched on 9 August 2016. This plan is immediately set for 3 years.
    • Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana 2019 (PMRPY) is for those employees whose monthly salary is fifteen thousand rupees or less.
    • The benefits of the scheme can be availed only by new employees who have not worked in such institutions before being registered with the Employees Provident Fund Organization EPFO and such employees do not have a UAN number.
    • Under the PMRPY scheme, there is a provision to provide 8.33% incentive by the Government of India to the amount deposited in the Employee Pension Scheme.
    • For companies belonging to the textile sector, there is a provision for an additional incentive of EPF contribution of 3.67% to companies connected to other sectors, up to 12% of the amount.

    Suppose 100 employees work in a company as of March 31, 2016, and the company hired 50 new employees in April. In such a situation, only 50 new employees will get benefits under Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana 2018 (PMRPY). If in April, the company has not hired any new employees. Therefore, the company is not eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.
