    has now approved 2.67 lakh affordable houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PMAY-U). Under the PM Urban Awas Yojana (PM Urban Awas Yojana), new houses will be provided to the urban poor to ensure safe shelter. The Central Clearance and Monitoring Committee has taken this decision in the CSMC 36th Meeting held on 24 July 2018. The main objective of this scheme is to provide pucca houses to all the urban poor by 2022.

    After adding the projects of Rajiv Awas Yojana, the total number of government approved pucca houses has now reached 53.74 lakh under the PMA Urban Housing Scheme. The Modi government will build these new houses in 10 states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand.     In the 36th CSMC meeting held on 24 July 2018, the Central Government has approved 2,67,546 more affordable houses. All people from the poorer sections of the society can now apply online and fill the PMA (U) online application form.


    After adding the projects of Rajiv Awas Yojana (Rajiv Awas Yojana) , the total number of houses reaches 53,74,306.
